TW newbie here. Looking for a 1st gen extended cab short bed replacement. Just bought a 99 in good condition except for rear wheelwell cancer. Looking for any sources of replacement options. Are there sheet metal OEM sources or used taco vendors? Taco ownership is all new to me. I live in Vermont but would chase as needed.

Have you inspected the frame thoroughly? Particularly the leaf spring mounts, inside the various boxed areas, etc?

By inspect I mean probed, whacked with a ball peen, used a camera attached to your phone to inspect the inner boxes? Becasue it rusts inside out.

Asking because usually the frame will fail before body issue like you are seeing.

I did have my mechanic inspect thoroughly before I bought it…knowing frame problem history (my mechanic is also a Tacoma owner so was well aware). Thanks Bill
