Bed side pocket above rear wheel well

Been wondering if anyone has attempted to close off those pockets just above the rear wheel well. From the looks of it, there's little gaps on the bottom where a panel might be able to fit (it has like little slits pre cut already), and then make a small slit or something up top for one of those 3/4" locks or something. idk, I just feel odd having them there and not really using them at all (which I want to, would be nice to put my bed cleats or what have you in there to store and when I need them I can take them out - I have a dual 10" box bolted on top of my cab storage cubby).

They work great for storing stinky catfish bait to and from the lake, don't want that crap tipping over or spilling in the bed of my truck and I sure don't want it in the cab

 

I had both of mine out and hosed it out in there. It was pretty shitty in there.

 

Mine came out going down washboards at 55 mph for prolonged periods.

this is the one i followed. did everything exactly as OP. using a different switch and location thou. i bought the lights and everything for them at NAPA. the epoxy from lowes. i used 1/8" lexan from lowes. used spray can bed liner, again from lowes! lol. i haven't wired them up yet or mounted my switch. just got the switch in yesterday, going to work on it this week.

Great work. But Walmart sells square lights called burners. They look factory when installed, they are only $20 and half the work to install. I've gotten compliments about them many times. Yours look good too though.

 

going to see if I can fab up some covers using same method.

How do they break off?

I have superballs in mine.

 

why don’t someone that knows how because i don’t or i would. make a think like the lock box the replaces the other storage box? maybe you could make it bigger as well.
