I was wondering why Toyota deleted the drivers side storage compartment in the truck bed. Anyone know why? I was thinking I can buy that part from a 2016-2018 model ad cutout that section in my bed. What your thoughts on this?

Yes you can buy and install one from a 2006 - 2017. Was eliminated for cost savings.

It can only be a few reason, weight savings to offset the new electronics, simple delete cost savings, or the focus group they put it in front deemed it an unimportant feature. Either way its cost savings.

I might be the only one who actually uses these storage spaces. :anonymous:

Lots of people here do for bungee cords, straps, recovery items, air compressors. But we are not the majority of taco owners. Look at all the pavement queens out there that could careless about that hole.

Here where I live, I've never seen a Tacoma with these storage caps, they're all missing them.

I miss the ones over the rear wheel wells. They eliminated those on my 17.... not sure if the 16 has them.

Sounds like they also deleted the Auto Down and Up front windows and the Gopro mount too.

I liked those too, they have been missing at some point during the 2nd Gen production, my 2008 had them but my 2015 did not.

You have the p&t package. I got the navigation and sonar back up sensor (worthless feature when the first thing destroyed is that plastic bumper)

I didn't even realize it was part of P&T but that makes sense.
