If you read Part 1 - I won't lie the 4 month wait, the slide 2" too long was a tough swallow.
Cargo Ease was outstanding in assistance with a resolution. I will never browse a RealTruck/Tonneau World page again. I know mistakes happen. But the lack of follow up, customer courtesy is shameful.

Moving on to some modifications I made to the slide. And Cargo Ease, if you see this thread, be open to what I have done to make the slide safer and usable.

With the slide now in the bed of G2G (Good2Go) I saw 2 things that were an issue to me.
I understand everyone's usage of the slide will differ. I get it.

    Safety First.

The verticle walls of the slide are 1/8th" aluminium and VERY, VERY SHARP.
Imagine on the trail 4 hours out and you slit your wrist.
Imagine pulling up on you jobsite to begin your day to put food on the table for wife and kids. You slit your wrist or puncture your palm.

Composing this is a bit hard on my 8 year old tablet so bare with me. It takes a bit of effort. Please forgive any duplicate pics.... It's an 8 year old tablet. ( but I fucking like it) (lol).

Breaking the slide down in these mod pics. Let's start with the vertical outer walls.
    Again, EXTREMELY SHARP.

I put a radius to the rear end of the outer walls. And capped it with automotive door edging. I tell you this.
There is a natural way I tend to grab the slide. Whether it's one side or the other, I tend to push on a vertical wall while grasping the handle with the other hand.

Okay. I resolved inexpensively the side vertical walls by putting the radius and installing edge trim.

    Next.....
Look at the danger of the 2 center verticle walls. I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW DANGEROUS THESE VERTICLE WALLS ARE.
Palm down on one corner.... Throw a tool bag in, back of the hand against a verticle wall? You are fucked.

Note in the next few pics. I had to INSTALL the slide. Thank God I had the cardboard from the packing, and drop cloths. I shit you not. It was scary and VERY, very dangerous. Hands, shins.

In my case, in my application, I chose to remove the center verticle wall completely.

Putting into context. I am developing some frustrations. A brand new product full of danger.
The verticle walls are 90* aluminium. To remove the walls the deck needs to come off now.
You need to understand, in the case of removing the center walls, I remove an 1/8" on material from beneath the deck boards. Hence it tilted in the center, looked like shit, so now I had to " shim" an 1/8" back underneath to make it a flat plane.
Working on ships and aircraft, I understand " bi-metallic corrosion. Two dissimilar metals together. In this case, the slides frame is steel, I removed aluminium walls.... The frame is painted... perhaps I should have used steel stock to shim it. I used aluminium. Remember I am installing a brand new product. There was some disappointment.

    Exhale....
Okay new product, perimeter walls radiused, and trim wrapped center walls out, shimmer the deck, re installed the deck. Whew....

Cargo tie downs...... ? Errr, ahhh.

I would think in most cases, for work or play we need a method to secure our load....

Look at the advertised pic. The side walls are laser cut/stamped out with the logo.... at least the outer walls had the laser cut outs. Look back at my pics... No laser cut outs. Maybe they ran out of laser?
