I have one for this exact reason. Getting those damn brake rotor screws off!
Never thought to try it on the bed bolts tho. I still have one of the six bed bolts stuck in there where the torx head has decided to start to strip. Maybe I’ll try this before welding a nut (or the torx bit) onto the bolt head.

Damn, that sucks. Keep us posted on when you finally get it out and you're able install your bed stiffeners.

I’m curious to see if that works for you. I don’t think I’ve ever used one or seen one used on anything other then those damn little rotor screws.

I’m not sure but I think they have those on the rent a tool at auto zone or probably any of the part stores you could probably could use it in the parking lot and not even have to pay the deposit

Ended up breaking another bit and stripping one bolt. Stupid things had been soaking for days, sprayed numerous times. Almost ready to give up lol but I'm going to try weld a nut on and get new bolts once I pull them out.

Sounds like the best option to me. Just have some heat protection around the head if the bolt, to prevent damage to the bed.

Hoping that I don't break the bolts. Definitely going to have some anti seize on the new ones.

Fellas I realize now that I never said what I used. Just use a damn pipe wrench. Took 20 seconds with a pipe wrench. Preferably and angled one. Line end I think they are called. I'll grab a pic.

Interesting solution. Glad you got it out, even though you had to go through all that headache.

Honestly I feel dumb for not thinking of it. My dad thought of it within a few seconds lol. Would have saved tons of trouble and 3 or 4 torx bits lol

Yeah, those impact drivers are the sh!t. I've had one for about 35 years now. I use it about once every five years, but when I do, it's a life saver.
I removed my bed bolts and greased all of them a couple of weeks ago. Mine still looked good and didn't give me any trouble. I'm SO glad I don't live in the salt belt.
I just used Lucas Red N Tacky. I put that shit on everything.

My go to grease. Use it mostly on my drive shaft yearly
