Just giving a quick plug to the cheap ahh bed stiffeners i recently bought, Labworks, 39$ Ebay.

Love them. Fits perfect with bed mat, no trimming needed.

In the few days I have had them on, I have already used the tie down hole points on them, they work awesome. Love the additional tie down support, very useful.

Grab a set if you don't already have em, and don't be scared of drilling into your truck to install them lol.

    Have a good Friday.

What benefit do they provide if you're not piling stuff onto your bed like a bed rack etc?

Mine are a bit different than the OPs, but they also make for great tie down points. I often use the mid way or top holes to strap too, instead of only being able to attach to the d-ring attached in the bottom corner of the bed. Sometimes I can't even reach the bottom as there's too much stuff piled in there, lol.

The keep the floppiest end of the bed wall from wiggling on any road, flat/smooth or off-roading with still nothing in the bed. It is cheap insurance against bad events. You can say"never need them" but regret it the first time you off-road. Your choice.

Appears your link is dead, it doesn't go to the product page.

Excuse my ignorance, and I'm honestly curious, what bad can come from the bed "wiggling" while off-road?

Bed can develop cracks in the corners potentially is what I have read. Due to stress/flexing.

Same problem from wiggling with a camper on top ... the connection between bed-base and bed-walls can go bad when the ground starts twisting the bed itself relative to the cab.

There are a handful of words on here that automatically create a link for whatever reason. ebay being one of them. I think Amazon might be one, too. lets find out if that's true.

You can pay anywhere from 39$ to $150 on a set of these too FYI. Me being cheap, bought cheap ! They all do the same thing. Very happy with mine.

If you could. Did it come with the necessary hardware? Any drilling required?

Given that this is a cheap part, I just bought the brand I trust. I can still buy avocado toast and lattes no matter which set I buy, so I figure no reason to get the cheap ones that don't come with a rad sticker

Just do not install them backwards. It actually makes the bed-side connection weaker. :duel:

The listing for the ones I got says out of stock. But if you search around there are TONS to choose from out there online.

Yes it comes with the hardware, and Yes you will need to drill.

Just want to throw it out there that there’s another design which doesn’t reduce the opening at the back of your bed or get in the way while sliding things in and out. Support is entirely internal, so the only visible piece once installed is a plate, high on the bedside, that could have a tie down if you want it to.
Production is slowed down at the moment, but Kwikvette is getting his one man show up and running again soon. This is a much more involved install, including painting the parts, sourcing your own bolts, measuring then drilling holes without a template and drilling holes at awkward angles. Not for the faint of heart or anyone looking for instant gratification

"Non-interfering" can be good. People must choose.

Is your cross-support screwed into the bed or are the countersinks left over from another time?

I’m just a cheapskate or I guess, being less self deprecating, I like to reuse things whenever I can. Found an old, warped piece of pressure treated from a deck demo and cut it to length

Bed stiffeners made it easier to shut my tailgate when my Yakima bed rack is bolted on.

Look at the photo below, this is on a truck with a steel bed and the spot welds are broken.

No racks, tents, etc - just years & miles of vibration.
