The beds are the same. I'm not aware of any reason why it wouldn't fit.

    I stand corrected.

Waste of money for 99% of people. How many millions of Tacoma’s sold since 2005 and maybe a couple people had issues. Unless you need it for extra tie down or open your beer then it’s a complete waste of money.

But I’ll admit that there are tons of solutions out there for non-problems.

I had a cap on my 2006 for 200k+ miles. Never had a need for bed stiffeners...

One could argue that a cap is in itself a bed stiffener. Provided it’s stiffer than the bed.

Anyone else have alignment issues of getting the top hole to align? Mine is off in both directions, fore/aft and height. Fore/aft misalignment not too big of a deal since I can muscle it to align but I can’t get it to align height wise (hole is too high). My set might be warped and the hole drilled too high?

Are you running TOTAL CHAOS Bed Stiffeners?

    IMG_3047.jpg

Do you have pics of your setup?

We offer two different stiffeners, one for the Second Gen, and one for the Third Gen. These have minor differences, it's possible you have the wrong set. Take a look and Please reach out if you have any questions! info@chaosfab.com

Mine seems to be slightly off on one of them vertically. I also can't seem to get it to sit flush with the bed side, its about 3mm off, the bolts on the bed limiting its horizontal movement.

Yeah exactly my problem with both sides. It is tilted when torqued down to the bed and also off vertically so I can't get the bolt to go in.

Exactly! When did you order yours? Maybe their jig was off. There is no way mine will fit, I need to call them.

    @TOTAL CHAOS

    Thanks for the reply.
I have the right part # for my 3rd gen.

    This is how it looks

First one is how it sits after being torqued down to into the bed, the top bolt hole is covered
Second is when I force it with some strength to line it up but the hole is too high. In the pic it looks like the bolt can go through but I can't do it without cross threading. I would have to drill the slot to open up downwards. This is the same on both sides.

Mine looks identical, the one that isn’t aligning is also on passenger side.

How did you torque them down during installation?
If the top bolt is off, our instructions call for the other bolts to be tightened from the bottom up. Once they are tight you can snug up the top bolt.

Please let us know. We'll certainly be looking into this to avoid future complications.

Followed the instructions as they are. The top bolt hole on the brace is too high. Tightening one bolt at a time starting at the bottom just makes it even higher.

I recall having the same issue on the passenger side when I had mine...I had to start with the top bolt and work my way down to get them all threaded before tightening them all down.
