i installed the total chaos one's specifically for the increased attachment points. and i end up using them even more than i thought i would.

anything over 7' like ladders, or 2x4's, i love the bed stiffeners to ratchet strap to. slightly lower than the adjustable bed rails, but also closer to the tailgate, and easier to clip to.

do i really believe they stiffen the bed? hell if i know. but the more places i can tie stuff down to, the more likely i am to actually tie stuff down.

    Another vote for Total Chaos.
I've had it for about 2-3 months now. Just like everyone else, those extra tie-down points have been useful more than a dozen times already.

I don’t think there is a design I’ve seen so far that would allow the use of a bed extender.

You could certainly design and fabricate something that would work, but so far nothing I have seen from the vendor community will work.

Nope, only thing that is exposed is the tie down plate.

This would be correct. Your inhibiting the initial flex and for that you just need very limited surface area. It’s like the analogy you can stop a rolling car at the top of the hill with one finger.

Has anyone had bed flex and thought they should've purchased stiffeners? I see plenty of posts about bed stiffeners but none where the bed needed to be fixed.

My At The Helms are really nice, not as slender as TC but I have fiberglass so couldnt use the TCs.

And bonus points to TC for not having a dumb bottle opener on them like evryone else.

What other bed stiffeners have a bottle opener?

edit: Google helped... I use to think it was only ATH, nice to see more.

That tie down plate looks to be located pretty close to where the hinge point for the bed extender is located.

It might work, but Murphy’s Law suggests the plate and the hinge will be located in the same general spot and require different hole sizes and locations.
