To say that it’s simple comprehension is nonsensical, but you are an engineer, not an English major. You probably mean that it’s simple visual acuity, to which I would reply that you, sir, may be blind as a bat.

This pissing match is a prime example of one of the many cons of online forums. Luckily when you weed through all the BS the pros still outweigh the cons...

Look at this point if Sierrahunter wants to fuck up his truck it's on him, we all not to buy his truck if he ever sells it because he was too cheap to spend 200 dollars. God (which I'm sure he doesn't believe in) knows what other corners he cuts to save on costs

Is that why my lower back is so messed up right now? Must have followed the install instructions wrong.

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
Did my own based on total chaos. Extra attachment points and bed longevity. Cheers!

Mechanical design Engineer here. The forces exerted on the bed sides from additional weight are absolutely working against you, especially if thrown about off road. Maybe the bed sides can handle it for x number of time but additional support is never a bad idea.

Are bed stiffeners needed for everyone? Probably not. Are they cheap insurance for people with substantial weight on the bed? Without a doubt.

Internet engineer here, checking in; buy the bed stiffeners. Bc they work? Who knows, but the internet likes them, and you'll get extra cool points.

Which are the top three that you recommend and why? Which are installed in your Taco?

Personally I favor the 4wheel parts bed stiffeners that mount externally to the bed rails

I went with the 4 Wheel Parts version because it’s mostly internal and was on sale for under $100 awhile back.

I have to admit that I love my Total Chaos bed stiffeners. The extra tie-down points are a big win. Some day I'll install the mofos. Been sitting in my garage for a few years. :)

Seriously, not being sarcastic. Got a good price on them at a show but then I got distracted and now here I am.

    Just got it yesterday lol
I have the Total Chaos bed stiffeners an as other have stated the tie down points come in handy. I have a GFC that is on the truck full time and we wheel pretty often. Call it a hoax or call it cheap insurance, either way they help me sleep at night

I installed the ones from Rago Fab. I would install them on another truck for the tie-down points alone.

    Friggin' Hilarious!

I had my Bushwacker Fender Flares for almost 6 months before I had a shop install them for me. (I just didn't want to mess with it)

This seems more of an easier install (I've watched the video and I can do that since I removed the tail lights when I did the bed lights install).

I don’t have pictures but there are two holes that you drill on a panel behind the tail light and another three holes that you drill into a support that is underneath the bed. Then the two holes needed to bolt down the metal tab that is seen in the bed.
