I don't do much (if any) off road but would likely just lash it down anyway. Thanks for all the tips!

I drove over Tehachapi heading back to SC last Sunday after lunch and that was some rain! But it barely washed off my red Utah trail mud off my wheels and the sides of my truck ... and my receiver hitch is still jam-packed with red dirt. Interesting aero/hydro-dynamics on the 3rd gen, 'cause that was about as heavy rain as I've ever driven in, with a lot of big trucks throwing up spray, and I thought all the evidence of my Utah trip would be gone by Bakersfield. Not so. But any box that didn't leak then must be good.

I have action packers in every size, and unless its summer they stay home. They always seem to get wet inside. I might look into trying to add seals or something cause they are good totes.

When I first read this title and the OP's post, I immediately thought of what I've been thinking about getting. Once looking at every single post one here, I've realized everyone is into the big chests/totes/etc. Anyway, I plan on getting a Swing Case, holds up to 75lbs, and I was going to have some recovery straps, d-ring shackles, hitch, and a few tools in there.

Didn't like the bungee look, so swapped it out for some nice chain and padlocks.
Still easy to remove, doesn't shift around in the bed (that I've noticed) and anyone that is going to try stealing it are going to have to stand in the bed with big ass bolt cutters ;)

The husky container fits under my bakflip mx4, bed mat keeps it from moving.

Prefer smaller boxes, that way I can organize and divide my stuff better. Got these from Front Runner Outfitters.

    got some (4) @ walmart
    $20.78 each
4 of them fit nicely in the bed with about 1" clearance from tailgate and 6" to 8"in the middle (EZ-up fits between)
tomorrow I'm taking my 3 boys riding in Death Valley for 4 days each kid and myself gets a box its big enough to hold all riding gear + a sleeping bag and clothes will grab a picture when I get them loaded up in the morning

Edit: Added photo & it's a long bed so this won't work for you shorty beds

    Mostly stuff I built.
I have these they are not weather tight but they fit 2 wide and 3 high between the wheel wells very well in the bed. I use them in the cab of my truck and they fit perfectly with the seats down. I put them on the back seat platform 3 wide and 2 high. They wind just about level with the bottom of the rear window. I have also put them 5 high on the drivers side rear seat with only that side down.

I did add some weather stripping to the lids and that keeps them dust free inside while on the trail.

These can be picked up at Walmart as well.

Found some 1/8" tall foam stripping 1/2" wide with adhesive backing at my local hardware store. Worked like a champ.

    How stable are they stacked?
And how did you tie these down (if they are)?
Good clean looking setup as always

    None (yet)
Dang...More regrets over getting a short bed. But two leaves plenty of space for the stuff that's too big to fit in a box (double camp stove, grill, bulk propane tank, etc.). Good to know my canopy should fit between them, though.
