I used to have a big diamond plate box that spanned my bed near the cab. I was forever having to take it out when I wanted to either fill the bed with fire wood or move my kayak onto the bed. I also noticed that how ever much space I had... I'd fill it. So I decided to downsize, and I went with a SKB box and mounted it off the rail with some powder-coated mounts. It's close to the cab so I can unlock and reach in without getting in the bed. I can now still fit other items like my kayak that need full length of the bed. So far I keep some of my hunting accessories, camp stove containers, hunting ammo, small pruner saw, etc.

They come in many different sizes and are water tight. I made sure I used rubber seals when I drilled my holes through the box for the mount.

May have already been a posted. I love the actionpackers, sturdy and lockable. I use one 48 and two 24. Leaving room for my coolers. They fit snugly under my tonneau cover. Here’s an old photo, but it works the same.

These are great. I picked up two and brought them camping. It kept gear dry. Now I keep one under the cover with stuff.

I picked up a four pack of Remmington 82qt totes on super sale around the holidays. They seemed sturdy enough and have a gasket in the lid. Got the chance to test them on a 4500 mile road trip out to California and back and they held up very well. We used them in the bed to keep dust and water out knowing the tonneau cover would certainly let some moisture and dust in. They performed perfectly. Everything in the bed not in a tote got very dusty while off roading in and around Joshua Tree. The totes kept their contents both dry and dust free.

I’ll snap some photos of them in the bed tomorrow to give a visual of how they fit in the bed.

Here’s what the four 82qt Remington storage totes look like in the bed.
