Anyone know of anything comparable that might be available for Tacomas? It's an AeroBox http://www.ecoological.com/aerobox.html, however they do not make them for Tacomas and do not have plans to do so. Trying to find some sort of secure storage solution without using a tonneau or a shell. Would love a bed vault, but can't swallow the prices they go for.

That looks like a pretty good box.... it would be nice especially with a lock.

I imagine it's a bit late on this one... But you should consider bumping these up to 7075 instead of 6061, especially if you aren't using threaded inserts. The thread holding ability of 6061 isn't terrific.

I've replaced that same bin 4-5 times now in the past year and two other cheap bins. I was 3/4 of the money towards an action packer in my attempt to save money. Gave in this morning and bought the action packer. I know better to, I am the type to buy the right kit/best up front instead of buy 2/3/4 times. sigh

Why don't you look at an underbody bed box? Just make sure the door is inset to the frame of the box so it can open when mounted to the bed floor.

I've been looking around for some of those as well. This is what I've decided to do in the interim. I have some of VooDoo's cross bars but had to raise them a bit to allow the Action Packer to fit underneath.

I've been trying to purchase the action packers since monitoring this thread without success.

The Walmart website has been out of stock but it has the best price.

Where did you guys end up buying yours from?

Built a platform set up for camping use with the gal and the pup, and ended up with this. Using two of the 66 quart and a single 34 quart that fit perfect under the platform. The cut out area is for the fridgebox.

Currently have one of the large ones for all my recovery/truck gear such as viair pump, jumper cables, fire extinguisher, smittybilt tow strap, and a set of traction jacks.

2nd large one is still empty, but thats where all the camping gear will go. Same as the small one.

Not too late at all, I made one and tested the threads with a drill and a bolt, they wore out too quickly. I'm looking at stainless steel now. Been really busy lately, so I haven't been on the forum in a while. sorry

I just picked two of these up from eBay. US military medical storage chest. These things are awesome. Fits all my camping gear and then some. Fully weatherproof too and made of aluminum. Weighs 15lbs empty so you do need two people to load it in the truck when it's full

Saw that, was wondering if it was for existing holes that we have.

It wont work. The boxes are too wide for our beds. They dont make a model that will fit a Tacoma. They should though!
