I don't remember the exact model, but something in the Leer 100 flavor I think. They're all roughly the same thing, with slight personal preference options, so I say go with whatever brands are offered around your area, or spend a few years waiting for the perfect used color matched shell to pop up locally.

I'd probably go Decked with a locked tailgate.

    Or shell

Neither is cheap but neither is my gear and I figure a 1500 decked is cheaper than just one rifle/scope - much less everything else they'd nab. So I can afford the decked much easier than the gear replacement.

it took me a few years (honestly of sporadic searching), and just before I found the used one, I was about to bite the bullet and buy new. If I could do it again, I don't think the wasted years was worth it, I love the deal I got, but life is short and should have ordered one from the get-go.

A camper shell, tonneau cover, a drawer system, or a tool box are all viable options. It just depends on how much room you need to fit everything, and whether you’re willing to spend a few hundred or a few thousand. I started with a tonneau, but I always needed to fit things that were taller than my bedsides, so I upgraded to a shell (Snugtop Rebel), which I love. If you do get a shell, definitely get windoors.

I think there's alot of people out there like yourself, me included. If I had to go on the search for one again, I'd bite the bullet and get a brand new one, installed "professionally". Its just not worth the wait to pay $1500 for a used shell that likely will leak a little/no warranty/etc. Now if you find a $500 or less shell, go for it. That money saved will buy plenty of weatherstripping and caulk lol. Now knowing how awesome a camper shell is, those years wasted waiting for that perfect deal and not having a shell in the meantime, its probably worth the added cost for new.

Just wait for like Black Friday, I bet a hard tonneau will be on sale. From there it’s just finding bins to your preference imo.

Do your jet sleds fit side by side? or layover each other a little? I use them too. Love it but would like it more if they sat flat.

I use the jet sled jrs, and 2 of them fit side by side in between the wheel wells, on top of a bed mat, and underneath a bed platform. I'd imagine in a slick plastic bed, they'd slide around a good bit, bump in to each other/layover, but they don't really move on the bed mat.

I’ll be watching this thread for someone to post the right idea. I want a drawer that is narrow and doesn’t take up the whole bed and is waterproof. Caps are great but I want to throw stuff in the bed. I know truck vault sells this but I think there is a way with 8020 and starboard. I’ll post when I build.

What about a plywood platform to the same shape as the truck bed and some of those long under bed plastic storage bins? If you have a tonneau cover or cap that would help with weather unless you do some work to weatherproof the wood. :sawzall:

If it’s locked in your truck cab, is it really secure? What about locked in your house?

nothing is secure. All we can do is make it more difficult so they move on to the next guy.

Its EXACTLY as secure as the rest of the truck, being fiberglass/metal and glass, so yes.
