    Hey Guys,

Wanted to show off my little project I finished the other day. I took two 40mm ammo cans from the surplus store and drilled holes in the bottom and bolted them to the rear wheel wells. To create a locking mechanism I drilled a hole for an eye hook. The latches have slots which make it perfect to slide over then just throw a lock on. I'm currently working on a quick release idea, being an EMT I need to be able to get to my kit quickly. I paid $10 each for the cans and $5 in hardware and $10 for the locks so $35 total.

That's pretty sweet! Like the paintjob and your stickers too. I would like to do this and have been thinking about it but I think a bed cover is a better investment for me unfortunately :pout:

If I could somehow do both that would be great.

Nice a few of us have done the same thing. I would advise to not mark the "tools" one to prevent theft. Mine are just flat black and blend in well never been messed with been on there for two years. Great water proof safe storage.

Where did that come from, or is it just an internet thing? I like things like that but I'm cautious to do things without knowing their origin

I was thinking that also, forgot to say it. It does look pretty sweet though the way you have them labeled OP, mainly it balances the medical one.

That sounds like an easy fix, you could make it.

Haha yeah, I just saw that you asked that. It's a brand that I love not only because of the meaning, but I also love surfing, and a lot of their styles seem to be tailored to surfers:D

Haha doubt there's much surfing in Texas, so that's understandable. And yeah, that's how I like stickers for the most part. lol nice, I like their emblem too.

ANYWAYS..... I just got back from the surplus store, took some measurements of the ammo cans they have there, and it looks like I'll have a project for the weekend! :D
Thanks for the write up Brenton!

Thanks lol but it's more about the experience than the looks for me, IMO It's not something I would put on my truck if I hadn't gone to/helped produce the retreat(s). It means the most to people who have been :p

If anyone gets some FLUSH ammo boxes or mods something to make them flush please post it here! Would love to enjoy both ammo boxes and a bed cover at the same time

I've seen ammo cans used in the same spot and like it. I don't know that I would advertise the tools though. I'd rather let the thieves just wonder if their efforts will be worthwhile. Let them think they might just find some old dirty rope and a few oil stained rags.

And there is surf in Texas. It's often chop, but we get our good days too. It's not the pipeline or anything.. but it's fun.

Yes! I love all of their merch. I'm so stoked they just opened a Cali store. My buddy got the inside track and is working there now. I've been considering adding "HE>i" to my tattoo collection as well.
