Sounds like you need a nicer truck with all the isolating youre attempting and now happy with. My f150 was considerably more quiet especially with sound screen glass etc. Had I added dynamat it would have been that much better.

Hmmm... Might be best to blackout tint the lower 1inch of rear glass, and apply sound dampening material over it to really make it look nice, plus give the effect wanted.

I'll give it a shot and see how it goes :)

Ah. I've got an access cab, don't think it will hide the same.

This. I put the rubber mat in the back of mine. I didn't realize how much noise was coming from the bed. With the factory tonnoe cover, it's like having a 5 ft. drum following you. Big difference with the mat.

I was surprised how much that mat helped dampen the sound from the bed.

I typically have the rear seats folded down as a parcel shelf. So lots of noise from the back. Mat helped reduce the noise. I've since tossed the RSI Cap on the bed, and it's quiet.

On my Ford Transit Cargo van (bare metal interior), it reflected every sound. Cargo van, cost-saving over comfort as most are loaded down with plumbing supplies. I used 3M Thinsulate on all interior panels. Huge difference. Hein sells the thick stuff, expensive but worth it. It's OEM for Honda and others, and I went crazy trying to find a cheaper supplier. It would be best if you bought it in OEM bulk to get a price break, so I bought it from Hein. Oh, the thin stuff you can find as it is used in Jackets, Quilts, and sold by sewing supply store. It doesn't hold moisture, just a woven synthetic material to dampen the sound.
