Is anyone running some type of rooftop deflector to reduce turbulence in the bed? I feel like things get a little windy back there compared to other trucks I have seen driving around. I’ve even lost a bag of trash I swore wouldn’t come out.

Odd, mine is less windy than other trucks I've owned.

Losing a load is driver error. Failure to secure.

If it was open at the time, then yes it’s probably part of the problem.

All I’m sayin is I’ve seen rusted out POS trucks without tailgates driving around without tailgates and all the empty cans and random shit in the bed just seems to stay put

So you're ok with your garbage slinging any ol' place?

Maybe, we can bring our garbage to place in your front yard.........

Loads need to be secured. No matter what makes up the load. Lumber, garbage, grass clippings, rocks, bricks,............
There are several tie down points in the bed. They are there for a reason.

Doesn't make it right... if something is in the back, it should still be secured so that it doesn't fall out while driving.

I’d suggest a tonneau cover, but it’d just make your bed wind into a Dutch oven!

Maybe take your truck to a wind tunnel for aero testing and strap your crap down.

    You absolutely should.

As an example, in my driver's bed cubby I keep four ratchet straps. In my passenger cubby I keep four adjustable bungees. Behind the rear seat I keep one of those folding trunk organizers. Even though I have a bed mat and softopper, I still secure my loads.

Trash bag goes inside the trunk organizer, which gets bungeed to the bed.

By dot regs, they are supposed to tarp it. They don't always because assholes exist.

    Yes.

In this area, the dump trucks running gravel/sand/dirt have onboard tarps they roll over the top of the load.

Even if they don't.....it is not justification to do the same.
