I came up with a design for a tire rack that attaches to the bedrail. These are made to fit a variety of tire sizes. I have a video of a test that shows a buddy of mine ramping his truck to test this rack out. I was very pleased with how solid the rack turned out... it didnt budge at all with the brake tests, peeling out around corners and even the ramp (as seen in the video).

I have a bunch of these in stock so I can ship these asap so you can have them before the holidays! I will make notes if stock starts to run low.

    Product:
-Mounts to your 2nd gen bedrail system to keep your spare handy for when you're on the trail.
    -Comes with all hardware needed.
    -Powdercoat is an option

    December Pricing:
90 shipped to anywhere in the states
    12 bucks for powdercoat option

I can get these powdercoated in batches. If anyone is interested in getting one with the coating, let me know and I'll start a list.

Will this fit on a 1st gen? obviously it would need another hole drilled but would the height work out? what size tires can this accomodate?

I've never played around with trying to hook this guy up to first gens. They do not have the stock bedrail system that 2nd gens have do they? I've seen 255 up to 285s used on these. I have 2 different sizes to use, just depending on the size of the tire to be used.

Nah, just tighten it down to where its nice and snug and it shouldnt budge. Did you check out the test video? I've also had guys take these out on rides and they reported back that they dont move at all. It's a nice tight fit so there isnt any room for play.

Didn't see the vid yet because my phone wouldn't play it. I'll check it out on my PC later today. I really like the simplicity and mobility of your design. I was looking for something like this a while ago before I built mine.

EDIT: just tried to watch the video and the link just opened antoher TW home page. Oh well...

That should work just fine with the rack designed for the larger tires.

I've passed on the tailgate mount idea I sent you. However I want wine of these for my first gen. Have you got a solution that doesn't integrate the bed rail slider mount and could be used for an 03?
