Currently in the same dilemma. I just want my dog to have enough traction to hold on while I’m going around corners. I have to rubber mat but the bed rug looks comfy for hoomans and doggos.

I have the bed rug and love it. It’s padded and conforms to the ridges in the bed so it’s nice and flat. I have a 100lb Bluetick Coonhound that rides back there. He loves to ride but sometimes gets motion sickness and throws up. I can pull the rug out, wash it off with the water hose and it’s good as new! It doesn’t get saturated with water like regular carpet does. It doesn’t get as hot as a rubber mat in the summer. Get the bed rug, you won’t be disappointed.

Great comment and damn fine doggo. Did you just trim the corners to fit around the bed stiffeners?

Bed mat. I have two Shepard’s. While others have commented the bed rug can be washed what happens on a trip and you don’t have access to clean it? Let alone dry time. At least with the mat you can pull it rinse it off in most cases a bottle of water at any gas station. And it dries in minutes not hours.
