We have bed stiffeners and are not willing to remove them because they will be supporting our Drifter camper. Can we cut the bedrug to make a gap to fit the bedrug? Any bedrug equivalents out there that would fit? Would rather than the softness of the plastic rug.

Dust intrusion is not bad at all. This thing doesn’t leak water and when I go to the desert it has very little dust in the bed afterwards (except whatever the dogs drag in). Probably the biggest weak spot is the cubbies, which you could insulate better to minimize dust intrusion.

I have bed stiffeners and just cut notches out of the area where they are to allow the bedrug to fit. Attached the loose areas down with Velcro. Works like a charm. See post #142 for pictures.

Oh, I missed that. Looks great! Why did you go with having bedrug up the sides and covering over the juncture to the tailgate? We are thinking separate tailgate / main bed rugs so crumbs and stuff don't gather there. And I was thinking it would be easier if it didn't go up the sides to attach stuff to the sides. Any problems there?

The juncture to the tailgate does collect crumbs, pine needles, etc. but I just go over it with a vacuum whenever I wash the truck. The nice thing about the juncture is that it keeps dust and water from getting in. The sides are great and don’t interfere with the bed rails. I enjoy having the entire bed covered.

The bedrugs are pre-cut for the cubbies on both sides of the truck, ala 05-18. Im in the same boat, I really want the bedrug but will either have to wait until they update the design or install a cubby by cutting into the truck bed...

I'm getting the full Bedrug installed on my 19 DCLB along with my Snugtop Rebel at a place here in San Diego. I questioned the guy about this and he assured me that they ordered the 19 model. I told him I didn't want it if it has a cutout to nowhere on the driver side. Lol. We'll see when I go in on Thursday I guess. I'll let you know...

So the answer is that it's not pre cut, but there is an indentation where you can cut out the driver side cubby if you do have an 18 or earlier. Not sure if there was just a hole there in the earlier model or not. You can see it, but it doesn't look bad.... I'm fine with it.

Oh the indentation for cross brace support is what you're referring to. I thought you meant the side cubbies on 2nd gens above the wheel wells.

Ok I'm on the same page. Yes that was precut and open on the one I received. I like those cubbies but they are one way for dust to get in.

I added the front bed rail. Will there be any issues with the install?

Just did the install on my 2020, figured I'd share pics and info.

I bought on Amazon for ~375, model number BRY19DCK. Amazon warned that "this does not fit your 2020 tacoma", but I confirmed the model number with bedrug on their website chat so I purchased. (fwiw, they would't price match amazon).

Everything fit pretty well. Had to cut the driver side cubby with a razor, but the lines are there so it's no big deal.

One issue I had was that I installed the front bed rail aftermarket, and the bedrugs seem to be designed to cover the area where the front rail lives. The Bed Rug instructions say "for pre-2015, trim the area..." but there's a nice seam at the top of the rug and I didn't want to cut it off. I ended up just mounting the rail _over_ the bed rug by drilling some holes in the rug at the upper velco strip. Hopefully this doesn't ruin anything, seems OK.

Looks good. I didn't trim mine either and punched the rail mounting screws through the bedrug.
