Hey ya'all I am doing a trip to arizoina for an internsip but on the way the itch got the best of me and i went offroading. A tree mangled the hell out of my rear quarter pannel but luckly its just dented and scratched but no exposed metal, im planning to get a new bumper anyways so im not getting the bumper fixed, just the dent. Theres some pics that of it, I got quoted 750 by a place in Pheonix called dent busters. Is this good, the guy said that they can get it looking 85-90 percent better with pdr. Thoughts?

Honestly that’s a bit on the cheaper side. I paid 275 for two tiny door dings on my car, however the results weren’t “85-90%” they were 100%.

His work was complete perfection, down to replicating even the natural orange peel on the paint. They’re was no way possible to see where the dings were at any angle or light.

Believe me with these guys, you get what you pay for

I'd expect to pay about $1200 to have the dent massaged/filled and resprayed. That is significantly more than $750, but In my opinion paying $750 for it to look less damaged but not fixed is...what's the word? Oh yeah - stupid. I'd have it fixed or leave it as is.

It’s a truck. Battle scars are acceptable.

Huh? PDR is 'Paintless Dent Removal'. If you aren't painting, how do you replicate the natural orange peel? That is the natural orange peel.

That kind of dent won’t be really right . It needs body work

Looks like the metal is creased. PDR can't take out creases.

I have seen worse repaired by PDR but that’s pretty mangled. I guess it depends on how much you like your truck on how you get it repaired. You should file a claim and have it properly repaired. But, if you frequently go off-road then just leave it your truck will look like crap anyway after a while of off-roading.

that can easily be fixed using PDR, get dozens of quotes...
Dont attempt to DIY, or improvise, make it worse...

A good PDR tech can definitely make it look better if not 100% as I said I have seen much worse completely disappear.

Oughhhh yes they can, without a doubt they can....
My moms fender was trashed & flawless now.
My place of employment / ford dealer has a bodyshop attached to it.
A bodyman went self employed full-time doing PDR, have used him for 30 years now, these guys have serious talent, well some do....

Just pointing out, when were not trained in doing this...
Alot of times, you can cause the drastic creases, making their job harder to get great results.

My mother was trying to hide that fender bender from me & had her detailer do pdr...
hes a detailer, not a pdr guy...
When I eventually found it on my own, looked like he was just making the backside of the fender with a hammer....:frusty:
I questioned it, she said she did but I knew that was BS, I figured one of the neighbors trying to make it better...
Once my pdr guy got his hands on it, we found a huge wad of clay bar embedded in the backside of the fender at the dent area he was working...
All made sense after that, putting 2 & 2 together...
