Within reason, there isnt a whole lot of actionable intel that can be gleaned from 5 year old pictures of dudes standing around on the FOB or other touristy stuff.

Its not like guys are on here posting up pictures of them and Hajmo Muhammad who they caught last night, posing in front of the Brigade CP, which is at Grid Coordinate XY12345678.

Hell a picture of a tacoma in a rain culvert produced more intel than this thread.

I ran through the thread to be sure I didnt miss anything. You can get more intel with 20 minutes of google searching manufacturers brochures and google maps than you can from this thread.

There are no time lines, units, rotations, nomenclature, equipment, vehicle specs, etc. Everything here can be considered common knowledge. At the very least unclassified. I know for fact that within months of our return CONUS most of the details of our rotation were posted in news articles cleared by the garrison PAO.

There arent a bunch of guys in here rocking beards and pawkul hats throwing up pictures of the house they just started occupying. One group guy threw up a picture of them walking down the street. Another threw up a friend of his in 10th who got broke.

I understand the concern but if youre going to debate pictures of people doing military shit in a desert as being OPSEC violations there needs to be valid concerns. Youd be better off taking your current argument to CNN or the friggin AKO login page.

Give me a fucking break. SOF loves posing for pictures, doing interviews and anything else to show off thier hair. The odds of you actually being "SOF" are slim. And of course not everyone within the special operations forcers are even guys that actually do shit. Known as "operators", but of course you must know that because you simply came on here and said that you were too cool to show a picture of yourself. Even if, by some miracle, you were an operator, they dont do much in the real world anyway. They train alot, I'll give you that. But when it comes to all out fucking war, you guys were never around until we killed everyone. OPSEC my ass....

Really man? really? Get a grip and realize that this nothing on thier radar. they are not stupid. try reading the Other Side Of the Mountain, thesse people aint stupid they get more out of watching us and our actions than the freakin internet. they know what we are up to before its posted. they didnt have internet then and they were abel to quickly learn from what was going on on the ground.... stop being so serious.

    Keep the pics coming Bros!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Edit:
    OOOOH fucking RAH Brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

gjbonner, Other Side Of the Mountain was a great book. I read it along with something else just prior to going helmand. Very good read, and will scare you once you realize how tight their shit is wired. And then of course, you get to see it in person...
