I set up this poll, because I am just unsure...so maybe I can get a little help with this decision. I was thinking about spraying Line-X on the bottom of my truck, on my finder flares, front and rear bumper also. For the people out there who do not know what Line-X is it’s a stronger (in my option) different name brand of Rhino Lining. Here are two pictures of my Taco with and without the Line-X (yes the second is only photo shopped). Vote on the first (without the Line-X) or the second (with the Line-X) to help me with my decision.

I don't know. There was someone else who had something like this done and the result, I'm sorry to say, was horrible in my opinion. That said he had his liner up way to high on his doors. If you keep it low like in the pictures you could get away with it.

Any particular reason you want this? Rock climbing? Extreme O/R?

hmmm. If you are doing it more for looks then I say keep it the way it is. Your truck is nice. If you are doing it for a specific reason, like to guard against brush/door dings/etc, I say go for it.

The one they are referring to is member rhys. He lives close to me. I will see it this next weekend in person and see how it really looks. As for you, I say go for it! I have been considering doing it for some time now mainly because the bottom of my truck is getting beat to shat.

I agree, and if you're doing it for protection, you might as well let it get scratched up on it's own. They're just going to take sandpaper to it before they spray anyway.

Well, I am not a big fan of Mud flaps...that being said ever since I took them off I have been throwing rocks at the bottom of my door. It’s a good thing that there are a lot of gravel roads around my house :annoyed:. The mud flaps I took off where cracked too.

Yeah I really don't want it any higher then it is in the picture. I put it higher for shits and giggles in one picture and it looked like garbage.

Screw it, do the whole truck. :D
Or, med-dark gray for less contrast. Maybe, color match.
So, you already have the fender flares done?

i'm just thinking that i wouldn't do it to my truck. now if you're a serious off road junkie and don't really care about the apperance of your truck, then do it. i live on a dirt/gravel road too, and yeah, the lower side of the truck gets a few rocks. but i'd rather do something else before i did that and ruined the truck. just my opinion.

Line-X it and pay for optional color matching. You'll have the best of both worlds

I'm not a big fan of bed liner material on anything but the bed. I think it looks tacky, but if you like it thats all that matters. Another option for rock chips is getting some clear 3M Vinyl and placing it where needed. Just remember if you decide to sell your truck down the road that may be an eye sore for some people:cool:

Quit doing that...and leave your truck alone.
