    My wife is a professor at a college.

    Her first day parking a brand new Crosstrek at the school, she gets two dents, one requiring sanding/primer etc. No note...

    Hopefully, you got the other person's info. It sucks when you don't.

    Get insurance adjuster to cut you a check, order a quality steel bumper ASAP, take it to the body shop for panel repairs only. You'll have to drive around with that janky broken bumper for a couple of months, but the replacement will be worth it. I ended up several hundred $$$ ahead with similar damage, but the adjuster wrote off the hitch, bumper and bed panel. Body shop received and installed the bumper (Mobtown). I opted to not replace the decal ($65 + labor), de-badged the gate and doors and removed the other decal.
