And owe all of you a debt of gratitude. I ordered a TDR access cab off-road in quicksand back in very late December of 2015. That was after checking with a lot of dealerships and focusing on price and integrity. I went to my local dealer (read closest here in Dayton, Ohio- Joseph Airport Toyota, JAT) while dealing with others within a reasonable distance (<200 miles).

I said I had been to or talked to these other guys (which was true) and was only interested in their lowest price for what I wanted if I should happen to order it from them. They said fine; here's the price. I checked with all the others within a reasonable distance (more than 5) and no one, at that time, was willing to beat their price - they were all a lot higher - "pay invoice and maybe we'll throw in the tow package."

I was told at JAT that orders went in twice a month. I added the tech package to my order 12/30/15. That let it go in on the 1st of January, as I understood it, to see if it would be picked up. It wasn't. It wasn't again mid-January so I said hey, what ho, and they called and put in a "special order" for a 2016 Quicksand Tacoma Access Cab w/tow, tech, mud flaps, and floor mats. Waited and waited some more until April 20th, when it was in and I could pick it up, which I did. I'll post more about that experience at some point.

Right now, suffice it to say that taking along the PDI check list (downloaded from this TW site) and asking for a copy of the signed-off on competed checklist before signing on for the truck was the most effective thing I did once I had a price. Pointing out that there was no way the "fluids" could have been checked in that amount of time, etc. (what I learned from here) led to JAT checking everything on my check-list (from here) including u-joints, u-bolts, u-name it, etc. PDI done right.

The only low "fluid" was the front differential, which needed 3 oz. Trans and all the rest were fine. Looking under, I can tell they lubed the u-joints; did the rest. 850 miles since I picked it up and nothing but smiles. Wucha know.

just kidding, welcome to TW! I'm a big fan of Quicksand, if I were to get a 3rd gen it would be a quicksand TRD OR, no doubt.
