Why? This is an every day driving vehicle. I don't know much about the 2jz, all I know is I hate the sound it makes lol. Wouldnt a built LSX be reliable as hell as opposed to a boosted 2jz?

If you are actually going to just piss away all that money that your parents just gave you, then you're definatly going to want to get 2jz-gte. Keep a toyota engine in it, and get two big fuckin turbo's on it. The cut the headlights out and have bird eaters on both.

That's a wonderful way of putting it. Money is meant to first satisfy our needs, including security, then our wants... as long as I keep myself busy, I see no reason to not spend money. Anyways, why keep a toyota engine? It doesnt make the swap any easier than an LSX.... and the LSX is built to handle up to 2500 hp... which I will never be able to reach (im keeping it street legal). I just want to hear the logic behind putting in a 2jz-gte and two big turbos. I hate the sound the inline-6 makes.

Having a 2JZ is also a status. You should do it to keep it Toyota. My roomie is about to by an SC300 with a 2JZ swap for only $4k. Let me tell you, Ferrari eaters.

To you, what Ferrari's? 308's? In a straight line? Ooooh wow.

And to the OP, why do you need to do this? What do you plan on doing with the truck? I mean it's nice to be young and dumb but seriously, why waste the money?

The point of a 2jz is because its just badass. IMHO the best inline six ever produced. it can do 500hp easily daily driven and extremely reliable on stock internals. Plus you keep it Toyota. Believe me... you will get way more attention and praise out of the community if you go 2jz. but personally i agree with others. theres a lot better ways to spend the money. Like maybe.. sell your damn truck... take the cash + whatever you were gunna waste on it and buy a GTR.

Agree go 2jz. Keep it Toyota. As far as best inline 6 it may be the 2jz but I think the rb26 is close.

That's what I would do. Makes more sense. Then you could whip it around corners as well(on a track).

If you have the money then do it...but I can find a lot of more useful things with $40K. ie. house, invest, hide it from the government! JMHO!

You guys turn all this into a FATHER-SON lesson. The guy ask you pretty clear WHAT would you put inside that bay if you had the money ???. There is no reason to give him a morale and responsabilitys lesson. In this Country we trust enough a 18 years old men to handle a tank or an f18 but we don't trust them with a bottle of beer. I am twice your age and God knows that I took a lots of good and bad decisions in my life. The only one that I regret the most ,, are the one, where I did not listen to my hart. Tell you what- If you have the money and want something ??? GO for it. Don't wait till you get my age. By that time the logic will take over your hart. Go get it tiger, enjoy life and hopefully you learn something out of it also.

Ps. Don't take the guy's comments personally. They are doing the best they can to help you
