I only noticed it because I installed the Pop & Lock for my tailgate and had to run the cable under the carpet. I noticed the foam was wet and I've never spilled anything ever.

Any idea what could be wrong? It's gonna be raining for the next week which could help in troubleshooting. Any advice would be appreciated.

3rd brake light, or if you have sunroof your sunroof drain may be clogged.

Thanks. No sun roof but I just found out it could be my Prinsu roof rack as well. Bought this used with the roof rack. Learning more and more as I own this thing.

Could be the rear cab vents letting water in which then drips down the back wall and soaks the carpet. If you don’t have a wet headliner, then that’s more likely than the third brake light.

I just noticed my coolant reservoir is low and the foam is only wet on the drivers side front. Looks like it's leaking from under the dash.

Maybe heater core leak? This thing only has 26k miles...

That much coolant, you would smell it. I also think the heater core would be on the passenger side. The 3rd brake light leak is not a thing on 2021's. I'm betting somewhere on the windshield area. Take a garden hose and soak the bottom area of the windshield and look for seepage. Also wet the roof rack areas to check for leakage as well.

    I found this thread. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/heater-core-leak.525093/

My sense of smell isn't that great. I felt it and let it dry on my hand and it was a bit sticky. Squeezed the corner of the foam out in my hand and saw it looked a little pink / brown.

Ah, so it is drivers side. I forgot the orientation of the hoses going into the firewall. It was the AC lines going in the passenger side I was thinking of.

Be prepared for an expensive bill if you don't have any to B2B warranty left.

It's got 26k miles. Should still be covered under warranty

Still check the cab mounted light (3rd brake light) and your rack,,, those are still suspect. The smell and tint in your finds can be dirt or whatever is in the backer and carpet flushing out.

GL and let us know what you find please.

I had this problem and it took me a while to figure out. I bought used and the guy ran a cable for lights through the driver door and under the molding. I got down by the brake and gas pedal to look up under and saw that same cable and water sliding down it onto floor mat. Rerouted that cable solved the problem. See what you can see up there. I took it to dealer and glass company neither knew. Said it was my windshield or sunroof. Wasn’t. I had to solve the mystery myself. I did. Also check what’s running through firewall or any other odd mods that might route that way good luck!

There have been reports of windshields leaking on the driver's side soaking the electrical connections over there. Checkup high above and to the left of the brake peddle. Is the windshield original Toyota? or something else? Possibly a bad install. Since it is new to you no telling what has been done to it by the prior Tacoma World owner.

No joke, what are the odds ?! Been a month or so since last vacuumed so did today. And right under the drivers floor mat , was a wet spot. I thought it was really weird as it hadn’t rained last few days and I haven’t spilled anything . I do have a bunch of wires running through the rubber grommet in firewall…. Will have to watch during next rain see if it’s coming down the wiring
