I know this has already been mentioned, but to reiterate, it is up to you to file the claim with the USPS. I had a damaged item with minimal box damage. Filed the claim myself, and got a check within 30 days. They really didn't argue much, just took pictures of the item etc and sent it to their insurance agency.

Bottom line, never send it back to the sender.

 

I don't think we need a limitation on people who can and cant post in buy/sell, You should just always be aware of the people that only have a few post. I've bought and sold a few items on here with no problems and I don't have many posts. Just be skeptical of the members that have low amount of posts and all their post are or selling stuff.

 

I have always thought that would be a good idea.

Unless the person is local and offering person to person pick up, I would never buy from a new member.

There should be a POST / Join Time (DATE) in order to sell. Many sites do it too.

I've seen too many people who sign up on TW just to sell their item. Then once sold, gone like the dust in the wind.

This will help members from getting drawn in to a good deal. . . ​

I sent him money for spacers he was selling and was awaiting a response. After waiting 3 days, during which 08navytrd was online, with no response and multiple pm's inquiring whether or not he received the money and when he was going to send it, I disputed the transaction on Paypal. After disputing the transaction only then did he finally respond to me with name calling and telling me he shipped the package 2 days ago. I just gave up my money shouldn't it be common courtesy to provide such information as when you will send the package, if you sent the package, the tracking number, and whether or not you got the money promptly?... I wait a week and ask him where the package is, all he says is that it's in New Jersey. I wait a couple of days and ask him again where my package is he replies that he has the product in his possession. What he failed to mention is that he asked the carrier for his product back a couple of days ago. Now I look on the buy/sell/trade today and I see him already trying to sell his item again... I am in the process of escalating the claim and hopefully receiving my money back.

This guy was trying to buy some retrofitted fog lights from me a while back I refused to ship to Italy. Anyways, transaction seemed fishy so I refused to do any business with the guy.
