So the only Toyota's I have personally driven were my two Tacoma's (2007 and 2017), my uncle's 1989 Trecel, and my first car--Toyota MR2 1991. They were all great, but I have to admit, I haven't experienced Toyota's true quality until now.

I have been test driving a few used Highlanders (2009-2013) in the last few weeks, and I am nearly floored at the quality of these SUVs. I know some of these Highlanders were made in Japan, and I can clearly see the difference.

Most of the Highlanders I have driven were in the 70K-100K mileage range, and they were almost like new. There weren't any rattles and the engines pulled hard, they felt a lot better than my 2017 Tacoma... :(

On the Freeway there was minimal noise, and they overall just feel solid and well built. ...These are vehicles that are old and have tons of miles.

When I first started looking at these cars, I thought the 16-20K price was outrageous. After test driving, I definitely see why there is a premium

I driven lots of used Nissan's, Honda's, and Chevy's. Used Highlanders are in a different league.

There is virtually no reason to buy a brand new highlander at $45K a pop.
