Parked the truck and there was a constant beeping. would not stop with doors locked, unlocked, in park, neutral. went in store came back and it stopped on it's own.

did you open the door before shutting down the vehicle?

did you try all the things above while you were still in the vehicle?

My '14 RAV does that while key is still present in vehicle until I'm out and close the door.

My truck does the beeping when I forget to turn it off and the key fob is outside. Was it still on?

    That one right there.
Can't stand that nanny nagging beep. Yes, I opened my door. What of it?

I know it's a safety feature but if I'm in park with the E-Brake on and I open the door and shut the truck off then it's pretty freakin obvious I did it on purpose to egress the vehicle. If it happens at speed in drive then the giant air sucking sound drowns out the beep any way.

I really want to punch the Toyota engineer that came up with this beep.

I don't know if it will cover this particular beep of the hundreds they felt a need to saddle us with, but since I went into the multi-media screen and hit the "turn off all audio alerts" button and added a seat belt extender, I haven't had a peep out of my truck. So nice.

There is a mod where you pull the instrument cluster off and cut the beeper out. Shuts it right the hell up. But you also lose other beeps like seatbelt (not too worried there) and other safety alerts that you may want.

If you remove the actual beeper in the dash, does that disable the backup proximity beeper? That is the only beep I want to keep

The wife's new 2024 Rav4 hybrid (and I'm pretty sure my 2020 Taco as well) will give a series of 8 high piched beeps if you open/leave the vehicle while it's on with the fob on you or outside the vehicle.
