    Hey guys,

I have a 2022 Tacoma, SR5 V6 Access cab. I thought the rear view camera would beep as I got closer to things backing up but it doesn't. Can anyone confirm if there is a beep or not and if so how do I turn it on? Thanks

    Dave

The parking sensor is part of the technology package. BSM/Rear-Traffic Alert, etc. There is a button/switch below the climate control to turn it on, (if you have this package/trim-level).

The sonar parking sensors on a SR5 are only available with the SR5 dynamic navigation package with options. If you have that, the button is in the same area as the ECT button.

I think I have just the basic Technology package. The camera works just doesn't make a sound when backing up when I'm getting close.

Back up camera is standard in all models, is your rear bumper chrome or color matched?

I have the Premium package and my camera never beeps when getting close to anything I wish it did. Especially when the camera is dirty.

This video explains what the parking sensors look like if you have them equipped:

I have both. It's painted red body color with the black treads. I see no sensors in the bumper either. So I'm assuming I don't have the beep. Thanks

I would be curious to how much the cost would be to have some sensors installed.

It looks like it's not an option on just the SR5 only the TRD. Back when I bought my first Toyota pickup back in 1984 (yes I'm old) the SR5 was the top of the line. How times have changed. :)

Toyota hadn't come up with the idea to water down thier performance division yet. Now TRD is just a cheap facsimile of performance. All to make more money.

If equipped, the beep can be turned on and off with the parking sensor button.

Don't feel bad, just something else to break. I was backing my Suburban up on day, heard the beep and was concertrating on backing that the beep was not even getting my attention. So $500 later after a fix I did it again, same spot and same damn beep. I think thats why I could care less if my truck had it.
