Im a nurse and I work 7p-7a. The owner at the bar knows the ER night shift by name. There's only one bar open at 7am in baton rouge and sometimes it's packed with nurses. But it's really wierd when you leave and it's bright as hell outside and you've got a buzz!

Go for it. I work medicine too, and yeah, sometimes you're on a 7a-7p, sometimes you're 7p-7a, and sometimes you have the shitty call day where you're 6a-12p the next day. And if you're in EMS, you may get stuck on a 72-hr shift.

If you're going off shift, go for it.

I almost cracked one open today at 11am. Unfortunately, it's my day off, and I'd just finished mowing the lawn. I decided it'd look bad if I started before noon on a non-work day!

I take my squad out for choir practice atleast every other week after shift---0800 hours I see no issues with it unless your cutting into family time for it.
