Mansplainin' how the 4.7 is actually the more responsible move given my desire to continue to contribute to the TW cause whilst having an awesome and slightly more fuxx given time offroading with my bros and reliably getting to Wal-Mart every time. Not going great. Going to buy her a house and move THEN sneak a motor into the rig while she's painting and such. V6 or v8. Who knows.

Might miss the LBL meet in March tho. As you know first hand, missing the LBL meet is quite a draaaaaaggg.

One factor that throws a major curve ball in the mix.

    Woman

And yes, I know about missing LBL. Will probably not even make plans this year. Moab just a few weeks after.

Been down a similar path before. It involved a part ownership in a pulling tractor, but worked essentially the same. Found the best way was to just act like I was resigned to never having fun again, never getting that new crankshaft we needed, and just being miserable for a long time to come.

That seemed to satisfy wifey that I was suffering for my bad choices and recognized the error of my ways. . She became over-joyed. Then quietly sneaking in an order for a stroker crank without any fanfare a while later.

    Patience Grasshopper....

but if you are moving to a new house, it sure would be nice to have a truck with v8 power to help move her stuff.

    Buy motor now, with cash.
    Buy house later.
Stash motor in corner of garage of new house, covered in an old dirty tarp - add some stained, broken down cardboard boxes for enhanced aged appearance.
Do her a big favor and volunteer to clean the mess while she fixes some lunch.
Discover motor of your dreams, run inside and tell her to come see, emphasize how unbelievably lucky you are and that the house she picked out was destined to be yours.
Sit back and enjoy the moment, your hard work paid off!
Sleep with one eye open for the rest of your life.
