But it looks like every other one. There are so many of them now, all identical. I see so many awesome looking modded trucks other than the "standard" look. Icon suspensions tires, rims, flares, stereos, etc. Those stick out in my mind. Too bad we can't work the engines like the old days !

Back to the Colorado I saw with the heavy flares and large tires. I am not a fan of the Colorado look but boy did it look good. Hate to say it but maybe a little better than the Taco. I could not believe the difference.

The look will wear as time goes on as it becomes redundant.

Tow Package is separate. Where are you at? I have the TRD Offroad alloys with TPMS that I need to unload.

OP, I have an SR exactly like you are looking for. I don't want to type all the differences out, but if you want to chat, pm me with your phone number, and I'll cal you to discuss. If not, no worries. Just trying to help.

I've said this before, but I think the only packages that make sense are the SR and the OR. The other packages don't come with anything that isn't easily added later for cheaper and better quality (except the dash screen). My SR has everything an SR5 has (except the dash screen) + a cap + mud flaps + better fogs all for cheaper than an equivalent SR5.

Depends.... the 2017 SR5 basically comes with the appearance package and the price bump. The 2016 SR5 could be had without the appearance package (which is the truck I got).

Not everyone is really motivated by what makes their truck look cool. I really just bought my truck to get me to work, not get stuck at the deer camp, and go on trips. I really only want to work on it/mods to make it more practical for me. I don't really want to do "more" work.

Not everyone is going to have the same motivation as you.

Putting the same amount of money into an SR will get you at or above the SR5 level. BUT the sr5 comes that way straight from the dealer. Depends if you want to put in the work yourself or pay toyota for the extras. In either model I'd recommend the v6 though!

I would cruise the dealer lots (or internet) to see what they have. I had the same concerns. I wanted an SR5 V6/AT DCSB 4X4 with Tow Package. I did not want all the dealer add ons that push up the price. I found exactly what I was looking for, and I was able to negotiate approximately 10% off MSRP.
Since then I added floor mats, a bed mat, and Lund 5" nerf bars. My add ons came to a total of $300.
Also, I think every SR5 V6 4X4 that I looked at had the Tow package. My challenge was finding one in a color I liked without all of additional stuff. But they were out there.

Another thing that the SR5 has over the SR I believe is the seat and interior options. You can choose from red or caramel for the accents and those come with black seats which imho are way better looking than the gray interior. I chose red and it looks great. It's included in the price and not an additional charge.

I'm in Texas. Wouldn't be worth the shipping. Have you decided yet?

I wanted to go with the SR. My wife wants the SR5. We're going to compromise and go with the SR5.

Mine did also plus the towing package and the premium audio, although I put an OEM audio system in it plus trifold tonneau cover, mud flaps, seat covers and window visors, it's a money pit but I like it...next will be tires and leveling kit
