BEFORE I SCRAP IT... anyone think of anything from a Titan i should keep for Tacoma?

got in a minor wreck, like 10mph, we were slowing to a stop light and i guy pulled out right in front of him and he locked 'em up and i hit him, but he was in nice jeep with trailer hitch and steel bumper. almost no damage to jeep, but the bumper tore through front of Titan. BEFORE anyone states the obvious, yes i am an insurance agent, and no i didnt have full coverage on it because it isn't use that much. so instead of fixing, probably gonna scrap it, it is outrageous what parts cost now,minor accident and plastic and crap crumbles.

any case, before i goes to the crusher, anyone think of ANYTHING i should keep that i could possibly use for my taco?

its stock, owned since new, 2005 nissan titan se 4 door 2wd, so no aftermarket stuff, or trail stuff to pull, any ideas/suggestions. i know most likely nothing worth while, but i just hate to like a year from now hear about something useful i should have kept, that i could have kept, and didn't keep and go, DOH! lol...

hey wonder if the wheels would fit, they 6 lug, got almost new tires but they 18", lol, how much would ya laugh seeing a taco riding around town with nissan oem rims, lol!

So get some lights, a radiator, a hood, and an aftermarket bumper. Fuck the airbag.

 

Umm.. how about the ENGINE? It has a huge V8 right?? Drop that thing in the TACO!

 

i thought about that really hard the amount of modding to make it work would take forever. and fit would be a challenge, i'm not 100% sure i ruled that out, but about 99.999% sure

I don't think the wheels will fit. Nissan bore is smaller IIRC

 

i can do the body and mechanical work myself, using 'replacement' parts, i priced it at about $3700, add another $300 easy for clips, retainers and extra little stuff ya find along the way, then another $700 or more for good paint job, and the little other stuff like alignment, etc

the trade in value is only like 8 or 9 thousand i think, so weighing the choices, i can scrap it get a thousand or so to a salvage placeand spend the time and money towards something else or spend half what its worth fixing it? and its not like my tacoma, where i put time into it and did custom mods that i use all the time ya know?

i am still scanning craigslist for a wrecked one or someting to use for parts cheap, but EVERY other one is being sold for parts because front end crash, rrrrrr

now if it was the tacoma, she already be on jacks and parts coming in this week, lol!

I don't understand your logic. You will scrap it for 1k instead of fixing it and selling it for a profit of around 6-7k?
