I think we got to the Maples Springs trailhead by 5 pm, aired down, and got up to the peak around 715 pm or so. Hung out for 30-45 minutes and then headed back down. All trucks in our group were done by 930pm. There were a few spots to pass or let pass some traffic but otherwise it was pretty consistent with being able to move.

Night runs are fun at Santiago Peak.

There are even "ghost lights" and I/we have personally experienced it. It was Me, @Redfive11, @CaptainReverso, and @Nicklovin. Very freaky experience that could not be debunked.

Steve, I can't stop thinking about that night. THAT was a fun run... Yes, easy, but fun hanging out with cool people for sure!!!:fistbump::drunk: But MAN, whatever it was that we had experienced was very freaky/scary, but fun at the same time. Made for good talk too

I've also experienced odd lights during solo night runs that couldn't be easily explained. I felt, many times, a vehicle was following me, I would stop, wait, nothing ever came up? This happened multiple times on different night runs in different spots.

Anyways, spooky as hell going up solo at night, but fun at the same time.

I wish they would open back up Indian Truck Trail as that is fun too.

I also have to add, this happened on one of my solo runs and it happened on Indian Truck Trail when it was open at the time... I'm heading back down going back towards the 15fwy side and I'm rounding a corner that had shrubs. This was roughly 1am or so. I'm rounding the corner and a man pops up from behind the shrub with, and I'm NOT joking or being dramatic... a weird smile on his face and waves at me?

I kind of started to slow down, but something all of a sudden just felt weird. Like the voice in your head is trying to tell you something? I just gunned it at that point and sped as fast as I could until the end of the trail. I still had quite a ways to go too!!!

My point being, in my humble opinion, DO NOT STOP for anyone if doing a solo run late at night!!! It wasn't like the guy rushed my truck or anything... just something quite honestly didn't feel very comfortable with me.

    Anyways...

    Just some stuff...
So, you're out by yourself cruising around at a night and a guy just pops out of the bushes? Yeah, that's pretty sketchy! Even if you had somebody with you it would still be pretty weird. Sometimes it's just safer to go with your gut feeling.

Agreed. And yeah, that is exactly how it happened.

I mean, you can easily have the same argument about me being out there late at night as well... driving around. But this guy was obviously "footing it"? Could have easily been a hiker of course and just decided to camp out at some point. But as you said, "gut feeling" because at least "I" know I wasn't doing anything or did anything sketchy. HAHAHA, I don't know how else quite to word that???:notsure:
