Beginner off-road trails in socal?

There is no state on the planet that dedicates more trails for recreational wheelin than California. From the south to the north, we are blessed as we all know it. I just started to get back into it after a 5 year hiatus. For a quickie locally, I dig Hungry Valley.

Jawbone to Claraville was fun yesterday. Beautiful country as the last time I was there I took the Lake Isabella way. The last of the Sequoia National Forest.

I remember also when Angeles NF had fire roads open so many years ago. There is beautiful back country to be explored. I got a chance to explore it just before the fires that closed them up. I used to get the gate key to harvest firewood. Those days were so much fun.

 

Just started watching this guy on youtube https://www.youtube.com/@Michael_Tran and he does a ton of SoCal trails that are beginner friendly and he has a 2wd.

 

Moved to AZ but am back in Orange County for a week and then up to Big Bear for a few days...

I know many trails are closed due to the recent storms but are any open in the area? Even Saddleback mtn?

 

Can't go wrong with Mojave Road. I just ran it for the first time last weekend.
