I agree with quite a bit of the article. Unfortunately, I've noticed many of the same things he's complaining about.

Interesting read. I had forgotten all about the legalization of marijuana. I'm sure that's caused a big problem with people flocking there for sure. I've always wanted to go visit the trails and mountains but if it's really all that crowded with douchbags I may have to pass on it. For those who live there, is it really that bad in the mountains?

The traffic has definitely gotten much worse in the last couple of years heading into/out of the mountains. I have seen more trash on the sides of the roads, though I'm not sure about the campgrounds since I haven't made it out as much this year as I have in previous years. I wouldn't say it's crowded with douchebags but I agree that many of the people moving here bring their habits with them which has made a noticeable difference in the collective demeanor.

That was a great read. And I'll be damned if I haven't seen 90% of that since I've been in the springs since May 2014. The military moved me here so it's not like I had a choice but I love this state.

The only thing about Colorado that really bugs me is the door to door salesmen. They completely and utterly ignore my "no soliciting" sign every time. Then I ask them if they are blind or just dumb and they reply "sir were not soliciting, we're just selling this blah blah blah".

So I usually reply oh so I guess you're dumb then

I'm just gonna start answering my door naked or with my AR or maybe both.

Yes it really is that bad. The funny thing is I took a picture of that exact same trash can just a week before I read that article. For anyone wanting to see it in person head up to fall river reservoir.

Offset, the mountains can still be enjoyed on a weekday but forget about weekends. The highway running through the most popular stretch of mountains is not big enough to handle the large influx of people so you can bet on stop and go traffic every weekend Friday-Sunday.

THIS^^^^^ I want to find a sign that explicitly warns that I will be answering the door with a gun. Maybe that will scare them away.

I know no one is scrutinizing me, but to be fair, I've wanted to live in Colorado LOOONNNNGGGG before the whole legalization thing happened. I have plenty of family here, too. I'm actually so tired of everyone assuming we moved here just for that. I hate what it's done to the state. I don't have a problem with people doing it, but we don't partake. As far as the rest of the article, I think there are similarities in every state but I completely agree with most of it.

Moving to Colorado for work. Kinda bummed out about hearing that the mountains get crowded during the weekends.

Well there is lots of mountains and 4x4 helps escape the masses but bottleneck is getting back into town (Denver), some just plan a late return to avoid it.

While I do agree with a lot of his points, the guy is seriously pissed. Just smoke a joint and relax, bro. (Joke!)

I've lived here since '96 and I've seen a lot of what he described, but I try to not get worked up over sh!t I can't control. But the one that really annoys me is the I-70 traffic. Granted, living in Springs, I can take the back roads and avoid most of it, but I-70 is ridiculous on the weekends.
