Are they the Toyo's? I sent him an email to confirm if he is running 16's or 17's.

Considering it's about 30-45 minutes from Harrisonburg to the trail head at Switzer (trail 2) and from there 2-3 hours (maybe longer depending on group size and if anyone wants to play around)... leavin at 12 puts us at the top of the mountain around 4. Account for all the time we notoriously kill with truck talk and gettin to know each other it could be later. I'd like to avoid setting up in the dark and seeing at it seems like we have a fair amount of people going we'll need to find a site big enough or a couple of sites close together.

SOOOOOOO how's 12 in Harrisonburg at ______ restaurant sound. And that's a LEAVING time so if you want to eat get there before

Is you're 16 stock? It's not the year that matters here it's the trail readiness

I like it too. BUT... I'm not planning on camping. How hard will it be to get down in the dark?

It sounds like the consensus is that the run will be stock 4x4 friendly. What about Prerunner friendly? I'm on the stock suspension.

LOL. Yeah. I've got my hi-lift too which I haven't had occasion to play with since I bought it a few years ago.

Op can you put my original post with the trail description in the 1st post.. easier to reference that way..

Prerunners are definitely welcome! The two trails can be run by almost anything given proper guidance.. I once passed a group of college guys in a 90's model caddy with 4 lights bolted to the roof and no rear window... they were havin trouble by gettin it!

I've lost track now of which # I made the "hard" trail but anyone can do the other 2 and still have plenty of fun!

@Truggin: getting back out in the dark isn't bad on the easy trail, just account for the fact it'll probably take you an hour to hit pavement given you're unfamiliar with the area and it's about 45+ to an interstate from there.. not sure what your constraints are but if you CAN camp, it'll be more fun

Not that it's the BEST food but O'Charleys has lots of park g for a big group to meet at and is near both 33 and 81 making it easy to find...

Op, if I'm jacking your planning process too much just let me know! My parents used to live over there and I've run these trails a bunch so planning trips up there comes quick to me but I know tha can be gal the fun so don't let me steal your thunder!

OP has been updated with meet times. Open to some suggestions on a place.
Thanks to @NewRider for all the info!

I am on my phone. I will get the most updated list of people coming, when I get back into work on Friday night. Looks like its going to be a major meet for VA/WV/MD/NC

I was up there a little over a month ago in my stock DCSB TRDOR. No problems going up, and I came down solo in the very early morning hours. You should have no problem getting down at night if you take FR 227. (Dunkle Hollow Rd., the route that goes by Switzer Lake which it seems we will be taking up)

If you want to play it real safe there is an alternate route that takes you from Flagpole Knob on FR 85 to 924 (Briery Branch Rd.) which is paved. Not as much fun but in a newer truck at night I would give you a pass ;)

    Here's a link to those routes: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ExBcl5MPdKSDdlcGCOPEOejo2zc&usp=sharing

The biggest obstacle I could find on FR 227 was the rock pictured below, and there is plenty of room the drive around it. Very tame trail but still enjoyable.
