    I dont think you'd need skids.. @90yota has been, and there is a writeup in the link I posted in the beginning. Ill dig around online too to try to find more info

    Yea it is stock friendly, there are some side trails that could need some armor (didn't get to explore much when I was there) but overall should be fine.

    As much as I'd like to I've already got that weekend planned out. Unfortunately it does not involve dirt.

    Flagpole is stock friendly. I had my Tundra there several times camping. Union Springs down from Meadow Knob is rocky but careful driving is doable in a stock 4x4. I'm pretty sure most of the "unfriendly" sections are off limits now.

    I also think the entire NF does not close down in Jan, but some of the roads do. I'd check out the NF website to be sure.
