Another thing I noticed, the klearz has diffusers across the entire lens. This may not may not be beneficial for downward direction bed illumination.

Too soon to tell but I did mock up the light to see what it looks like.

Yup, that's what I'm going to do. This mock up still has the reflector in the way.

After much delay! Measurements are in.

    IMG_0140.jpg

Pricey OEM replica Klearz lens, that perfectly matches OEM:

    IMG_0141.jpg

    Off by 4mm.

    IMG_0143.jpg

And sadly the new OEM replica lens body is actually longer than the aftermarket housing. The aftermarket housing is not the same dimensions as OEM. Unfortunate because I was really liking how this was going to look with the slightly smoked lens.

Damn. Wonder if you can swap the led array over to your stock housing.

That is it on the aftermarket base in the last photo, you can see the lens overhangs on the right. My plan was to swap the base to the new lens, but the OEM lens is longer than the aftermarket base. Does not line up at all.

He would have to cut out the section that holds the bulbs in the OEM fixture as its molded in one piece then your piece could be glued in.

Got it. Maybe I should get an OEM housing and design a drop in LED cargo/brake box to fit in that instead since we know it fits 100%

I really think that you are on to something with this, biggest issue is the price of the Klearz lens! I really like having cargo lights and can't understand why Toyota left them off the access cabs????? Keep up the good work!

That would be sweet, but an aftermarket housing of identical dimensions would work fine too. Trick is of course finding one.

The lens is pricey, but I do really like the potential look with the light 5% smoke.

Here's where Gen2's and Gen 3 Access Cabs have a common part! So yea! It will work on Gen 2's.

I did a mod but it's not as nice as @mesojdm's 3D printed part.
