But what we need to know, is the width at the bottom. It's 14.1" wide at the top, but it tapers at the bottom.

I use feet and inches at work everyday but decimal inches only make sense for rafter calculations

In that case, it looks like we have a winner.

The prototype is being cut right this very second.

I have to drop a load of tailgate caps and bed crossbars off at the powder coat guru in a little while. As soon as I get home, I'll get this thing assembled and on the truck.

    Pic's to follow.

That size talking about the taper is just talking about the internal dimensions. How close are the external dimensions to the internal ones at the base?
I hope you are correct in stating they fit! We need someone to get some measurements for us to confirm! Oh I hope your right KB!!!

As they say, if it fits, it ships!

Anybody near a store where they sell these things? Got time to take a measurement?

I have one of these and snapped a couple of pics. The very bottom is about 10 1/2" and then there is a taper. After the taper it's about 12 1/2". Pardon the quick phone pics.

This is a great idea. Can't wait to see what it looks like mounted up. I think this might be just what I need for my bed.

I just looked in my cap and realized that it may or may not mount up depending on if the cap mount locations interfere with the rack mount locations

How far apart are the mounting spots on the rack ? ie how much distance between them ?

Wondering if I could go either side of my cap mounting hold down
