I'm not very good at asking for assistance but here it goes...

About 7 years ago my wife started having medical problems. At first we thought it was a slipped disc in her back but the MRI's told a different story according to her back surgeon. After getting MRI's from her the sacrum to the cranium we were sent to the Neurologists. This was before the affordable health care act and her insurance stated it was pre-existing condition. At this point people, my self included, were thinking that this might be MS. The neurologist informed us it wasn't but it was a movement disorder problem and sent us to UCLA medical. What she was finally diagnosed with was MSA Multiple System Atrophy, which is basically the rarest, nastiest, most aggressive form of Parkinson's disease.

In seven years the disease has progressed quite steady until last year when she was diagnosed with breast ductile carcinoma stage 2. After this and her surgery the disease has progressed very rapidly. Besides her body shutting down it is now affecting her ability to think clearly which honestly is the toughest part.

It's crazy how someone can go from a healthy fitness instructor who taught boot camp class, spin class, and would literally light up a room with a smile that the whole room would feel, to being unable to walk, sit up in a chair unassisted, speak, think clearly in a such a short period of time and at such a young age.

The one thing I am incredibly grateful for is that she is not is a lot of pain, and we believe that her days of struggling and suffering are getting to closer to being over. I needed to vent, thanks for listening those of you that did.

After her legs first stopped working all together, about 3 years ago, she could still sit up pretty good, we did a lot of driving (I couldn't really find anything else she could do without struggling) in the back county of the Sierra's and Yosemite with my Tacoma. See really enjoyed it and we went to many amazing place like the avenue of Giants in the Sequoia's, Obsidian Dome, etc.

Anyway before I type a novel, her friends have set up a fund to assist us with the ever mounting expenses we are facing due to her condition. We have had to hire in home care, which has added up very fast. We have hospice assisting us where they can and friends and family where they can.

The link to her fund is:
No amount is too small and she is a huge fan of the band The Who, and is know to the a lot of her friends as WHOBABE.

    God Bless,

Thanks for listening, this was Erica before MSA...

Sorry for everything you two are going through Ryan. I know how hard it is seeing your wife critically ill and unable to enjoy life the way she deserves. I'm glad you were able to have some great times together touring around in your truck seeing some beautiful country and that was probably the best thing any member on this forum has done with their truck in a long time. Be strong for her and never take a moment with her for granted.
