Bell housing or full transmission? And would a Tundra transmission bolt in?

This may be redundant to some of you, especially the LT crew, but back in November my u joint took a dump, and the vibrations of the driveshaft on the highway caused the bell housing to crack. I got it towed to a shop and was still able to shift through all the gears and put it into 4lo and back, albeit with the gearbox in neutral, since the clutch pedal was just limp and to the floor due to the lack of pressure.

I do have the option of a new 3.4/R150 bell housing for $100, but that runs the risk of doing all the work to install that only to find out there’s more internal damage to the gearbox. I also found an R150f and tcase from a 2001 V6 Tundra - can anyone confirm if this would be a direct bolt on, or were there any differences between the first gen Tundra and Tacoma gearboxes?

I can't confirm definitively, but would bet my bottom dollar that Tundra transmission would work just fine and bolt right up.

Those V6 Tundras had the same 5vz as you, so I can't fathom their R150F being any different either, unless it were a 2WD model with a different output shaft.

No it comes with a tcase so it’s 4wd. The only thing is maybe the output or input shafts would be longer since the Tundra is a bigger vehicle? I was pretty sure it’s be compatible but I was curious if anyone had done this swap before.
