I have a 99 Tacoma v6 4x4 with non-abs front disc brakes. Lately,if I brake hard, even at a low speed,I get what sounds like a belt squealing sound. It is not the disc pad sensorsrubbing the rotrs. I have also heard this sound once in awhile if i hit a dip in the road or are going around a bend. Any thoughts? Again, sounds like a belt squealing.....thanks!

Have you checked the tension on your belts? When was the last time you've replaced them?

You also may want to watch Timmy's video on checking motor mounts and inspect those.

Belts feel tight and look good though they are several years old. Motor mounts are new.

:notsure: Maybe with the engine idling, and truck in park or neutral, try putting a floor jack under a good front lifting point so the wheels are off the ground, and then release the jack and see if you can repeat the sound at a standstill.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
New Motor mounts does not mean they have not failed .

perhaps hardware has come loose .

    Transmission mount?
