Hi welcome tacomaworld I have 2019 Tacoma 4x4 trd sport that is squealing when idling up to 2-3k rpms after off roading last weekend, I had taken it in the very next day to dealer to find out that the belt tensioner assemble became misaligned after wear and tear. After finding out about the issue the dealer had replaced it under warranty, but it seem after the service my 3rd gen still continues to squeal at a lower pace still while accelerating in higher rpms orrolling in drive. Any solutions or thoughts ?!

Crazy, but I’ve seen this happen, check and make sure the belt is routed right.
They may have put the belt on wrong when putting it back on. The ribbed ends should not be in contact with any idler pulley. But if it slips off and you don’t catch it they’ll work. But squeal.

Did they replace the belt as well? Maybe the misalignment caused some weird wear on the belt and it needs replacing too?

I brought it in the dealer once again for a second inspections, and if this issue continues I will take matters into my own hands I appreciate the feedback!

I don't believe they replace the belt but just the drive belt tensioner assembly. I will questions the dealer while im here to see if they can get me rolling on some new goodies.

You can always use a extra belt. Get a new one and see if that helps. Otherwise, it may be another pulley, PS/ALT/WP etc.

Take a can of WD40 with the straw and squirt the tensioner bearings and see which one is making the noise .

Get a candle and slightly touch the smooth side of the belt with It while the engine is running. If it is the belt, noise will go away. Always, always be careful with finger, tie, ponytails ... whatever is hanging out.

I use a mechanic's stethoscope and place on each bearing while it's running. Works every time.

Other than that...replace belt and keep for spare (they don't have them for sale on top of Buttfu-k Mountain.)

Also,... bearing the belt squeal does sound different...… Good luck

    Also WD is good idea.

As of now Longo Toyota can not figure out the issue and getting in contact with Toyota themselves for a troubleshoot. Should I be worried they been working on the truck for the past 8 hours.

No. And they were probably only working for 20 minutes. Diag time is usually one hour. After that, the guys are losing money so they'll walk away. Calling Toyota is code for "you are not paying me enough for this bullshit" Lol.

Toyota released the truck to me with no squealing today, but hopefully it doesn't start back tomorrow morning cold start.

I thought I was having the same issue with pulley's just brought my '16 OR in after months of going back and forth with the dealer and the squeaking/chirping being sporadic. I caught it today and brought it in, like others have said it was the T-SB-0016-18, Chirping Noise From High-Pressure Fuel Pump. It just took some time to get it to replicate in order for the tech to actually hear it while it was squeaking. See if it's a chirping coming from the top passenger side of the engine bay.

Yes I’m currently having that same issue and the dealer basically said they can not do anything unless my truck can react it

Well.. pretty much. Hell I’ve spent 4 hours tracing down a electrical issue just to get paid .5 by Toyota..

I wanted to post an update about this. I had mine replaced on 2/28 and haven't had the chirping come back as of yet. They covered it under the powertrain 60,000 mi warranty. Like I stated above it took a LOT of back and forth with the dealer and I even resorted to pulling up randomly one day without an appointment when it was chirping just to show the technician so he can have his "proof". Highly recommend pushing for it. took him around 45 mins to swap it out. Here are the parts they replaced:

    Parts
    Name Part # Qty
    PUMP SUB-ASSY, FUEL 231010P020 1
GASKET, FUEL PUMP SP 232240P010 1
LIFTER ASSY, FUEL PU 23470F0010 1
GUIDE, FUEL PUMP LIF 2347731020 1

OP, any updates on what fixed it for you? I'm having a similar issue that started 7 days ago. Taking it to the dealer soon.

Here I am back a few month later after the issues were resolved once. I’m having to deal with this again 3k miles later.
