Hey guys. I'm a new owner of a 96 Tacoma 2.7l 4x4 5 speed. I acquired it for $1 and so far I've had to put new rotors, new drums, new shoes, new brake hardware. I've been lurking around the site a while. I love the truck, however Its a single cab and I have two little girls I sometimes cart around. I would like to find a bench seat for it but I am not 100% sure if it's possible. Did these configurations come with benches? What would I do about seatbelts? Anyone who live in Virginia want to swap seat setups with me?

There was a factory bench, with center lap belt. Mine has one.

A lot of folks with them are interested in bucket seats, so a swap is certainly possible.
Edit- post in the sale section under “trade or buy” when you get enough posts.

If you are around Atlanta, GA I do have a bench seat I took out and put in 60/40 seats. The cushion on the driver side is worn but perhaps you can get some new foam put in. Comes with seat belt latches for it as well. Let me know.

Do you have buckets? I though single cabs only had the bench or a 60/40 split. The 60/40 split should have a center seatbelt, too.

If you search around, you'll find several people who have done the swaps.

Some reg cabs had the console/buckets, or at least the 01-04's had it as an option. Saw one at the salvage yard that was like that when I was scrounging for a console.

Yep mine is definitely 2 bucket seats, with a console in the middle. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Good to know that benches are an option. I'm going to look around and see if I can find some locally. I'm not opposed to trading, but I'm thinking it may not be a bad idea to keep my setup AND pickup a bench and 3rd belt.

Where in VA are you? I have a 60/40 drivers seat for sale, which will allow you to retain your stock passenger seat.

I'm in Newport news, but travel all over. Just found a hole in my frame near the passengers side shock mount, so the seats will more than likely go to the back burner. How much do you want for em?

I see your an auto. Having someone straddle the shifter in a 5 speed makes for an interesting time.

The condition my frame is in right now nobody is going to be riding with me! It sucks, i really like this truck too! Plus I've already put about 400 into it after being reassured by a state inspector the frame would be fine! Fml
