Hey guys and gals, so the story starts like this. my boss bought an 02 tacoma extended cab 4x4, the previous owner put in a 3 inch lift and had pretty big tires put on. i got my hands on the truck and began cleaning it, once i cleaned the frame i was shocked... it was destroyed, it had scabs welded on.. and ive seen dog poop that looks better than these welds. so after getting annoyed and about to give up, my buddy rolled his on the highway, exact same truck. so i bought his for the frame, motot, and drive train. put my cab on his frame and my bed only to realize his frame was bent behind the cab mounts in rear. i figured i could tweak it back close enough with my tow truck winch... well i got it as far as i could, put tires on and its terrible. i had to put new wheels on all the way around because the steel rims were bent. thats not all though.... after finishing the truck i thought... it pulls WICKED to the left, well i used wheel spacers on 3 of the 4 wheels to make them somewhat line up.... well that was the plan at least. see, when it was rolled, the driver side slammed down hard and shoved the rear axle, leaf springs and frame to the right. but it also turned the axle a little... but barely, last night i wook it for a rip on the interstate... it pulls seriously to the left.... like if you let go it instanly goes left, so i took a gander today.. and the pics are right. look at the wheel positioning, for some reason the right front is cambered in at top pretty bad but no damage to syspention or shock tower... nothing up front is bent from i can tell with a level and straight edge.. but the back... aparently the axle is bent.. good news is, i have the other axle off rotted frame. my plan is to take 1.5x4 or 5 inch 1/4 inch thick rectangular tube, use a hole saw the diameter of the axle and make new mounts, then cut mounts off other axle and align it with front, then weld on these new mounts.. the only reason im saying this is because the frame isnt straight so the leaf springs are offset to the right.. if i offset the axle mounts the 3/4 inch, it should line things up. then measure off front cross member to axle to make sure its straight...

Pro tip: Break your post up into paragraphs. Makes it less tiresome to read.

    And this:

And change your title to some more meaningful, hopefully related to your issue.

don't "rig" something to fix another "rigged" POS

get the frame straightened. get a dam alignment. and take off those spacers before you do.

I can understand the spacers up front then.

Still, call around to other shops and see if they have better prices for frame straightening. I'd rather pay $1k and not burn through tires and suspension parts every year :(

It's cheaper to buy a new frame completely. Toyota charges around $3,000 for a brand new one.

So i have more questions... i think im going to dig out the other axle, i know for a fact its not bent where as mine is obviously, the other axle needs wheel bearings and brake cylinders. How do i go about changing all that? do i need a special tool?? what i want to ask is, can i take the axles and hub setups out of the axle im driving now and put them in the other axle? replace seals and stuff? is it that simple or is it alot of work? i could have them do it, but thats more money to spend when i could learn myself and do it for free... my wheel bearing i have now are good. i was going to have them try straightening my current axle but i nticed at the store today its leaking a little diff fluid. so i bet its bent at the center (diff cover location).. instead of messing with that, i can use other axle. same truck, same everyting just had a sh*t frame... let me know what i should do! ive never pulled rear axles apart

As long as the axles are the same ABS or nonABS. You should be able to seap axles and backing plates. Assuming the axle shaft it self is not bent.
