    The hood looks like the hinge torqued up, shutting your hood with a tool or what ever will do that. I just did that on my old runner this past winter with ice/snow. Most likely a new hinge will fix it. If the hood is colasped on the front of hinge you can use the old hinge to pull it back out. I wonder if your control arm is bent? Is coil spring seated in the collar properly on the high side? If not that would preload the spring and give more lift.

    Is the hood to fender gap equal on both sides with the hood closed?
