    I agree - cut the steps off... those look better that way too.

    If you plan on bumping them again, I'd remove them altoghether.
    The are bolted to the body - not the frame.

    You don't want any load there... It would be silly and you'll regret any damage there.

    They are Predator steps.
    I would be afraid it would bend into the body. I bent mine after my first time on a good trail and figured it would happen and planned to get sliders as soon as it did. Didn't take long. Actually pulled one off completely.
    I honestly think you're lucky yours didn't bend while dragging them like that, Topanga Taco. Glad the didn't though.

    Cheapest long term solution:

    Chop the steps, rattle can finish, and start a coin jar for sliders.
