    Of those of you out there who work on Tacomas, how often do you see bent spindles coming from some sort of impact with a curb (e.g., sliding into curb at 8-10 mph due to ice)?

    Probably not unless it was a perfectly sideways impact. Take pics or get an alignment

    I had one. I rebuild wrecked Tacoma's'. Got one with a bent top portion, near the top ball joint. We aren't supposed to heat them and bend them straight, but we did. We needed to get the truck to the roller stage. Intended to buy a new spindle, completely forgot after getting it put back together. Drove it 275,000 miles with the straightened spindle. Didn't seem to hurt anything.

    Usually the control arm gets fuqued first. Both the spindle and the lower control arm are designed to fail before something real expensive gets bent.
